The children take part in a number of scientific investigations across the course of the year, both planned in relation to the children’s interests, for example making an ice castle, and incidental investigations that arise through child initiated learning, for example playing with the guttering and mini-beast hunts.
The children have continuous access to ICT equipment. Each class room has three computers and an Interactive Whiteboard that the children can use. The children also get the opportunity to use equipment such as CD players, laptops, microphones, microscopes, digital cameras and video recorders.
This aspect also covers historical and geographical knowledge and skills and well as the understanding of different religions and cultures.
