Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important choices you will make. At Old Basing Infant School, we hope your choice will be us. We believe that there is a kind of magic that happens in our Infant School. Our children learn to be literate and numerate in an environment where the children’s interests are paramount to our curriculum design. They lead their own learning, problem solve, share, understand their rights, negotiate, discover how to be independent, respectful and resilient.

We believe that children in an Infant School setting benefit from being taught by professionals who are specialists at getting the most from our youngest children. Children at Old Basing Infant School leave us at the end of Year 2 having taken an active role in their education. Many of the opportunities that they have to participate in the school community at our school, can often be left to older children in a Primary School setting.

Our children benefit from being actively involved in many activities, from open mornings and having key roles of responsibility, to making strategic decisions through our Pupil Council. We feel as an Infant school, we are more aspirational for our 4-7 year olds, not only in terms of their academic skills but also in terms of their independence and the ability to make their own choices. We know how to get the best out of your young children.
