The school makes every effort to ensure that children with medical conditions are properly supported in school and have full access to education, including school trips and physical education.
The school needs written consent for any medication to be administered in school by school staff.
If your child has a condition that requires medication to be held in school, e.g. adrenaline auto injectors, asthma inhalers, we will require an individual health care plan, templates for which can be downloaded from the administration section below.
All consent forms can also be downloaded from the administration section should you wish to complete them before medication is brought into school.
Prescription medicines for specific conditions e.g. antibiotics can be administered in school if required. Below are some suggested times for dosing antibiotic medication for the age of children we have here at the Infant School.

Any medication that comes into school will need to be in the original container as dispensed by the pharmacist, with the necessary instructions clearly printed on the box/bottle. This includes travel sickness remedies sent in for school trips. Asthma inhalers will usually need to come in still inside the cardboard packaging as that is where the label can usually be found.
